Nota ringkas Life on Earth

Setiap hentian memberi murid satu kad fakta selepas lulus. Ini kad bagi unit ini:

• rhinocerosA rhinoceros (or rhino) has a horn on its nose. Many rhinos are in danger because people hunt them. Say: rye-NOS-uh-rus.
• reefA coral reef is a line of rock or coral under the sea. Many colourful fish live on a reef.
• -er / moreShort adjectives: tall → taller → the tallest. Long adjectives: expensive → more expensive → the most expensive. Irregular: good → better → the best, bad → worse → the worst.
• some / any / a / anUse a/an with one countable noun (a lake, an owl). Use some in positive sentences (some water). Use any in negatives and questions (There aren't any owls. Are there any lakes?).
• volunteerA volunteer helps and does not get paid (sukarelawan). Example: She is a volunteer at the animal shelter.
• endangeredAn endangered animal is in danger of disappearing forever. We should protect endangered animals and their homes.
• habitatA habitat is the natural home of an animal or plant. The habitat of a penguin is cold ice and sea.
• comparingWhen you listen to a comparison, listen for words like bigger, smaller, the biggest, more dangerous and the most beautiful.
• protectprotect = keep something safe from harm (melindungi). Example: Rangers protect the forest and the animals that live there.
• rangersRangers look after national parks. They watch the animals, protect the forest and teach visitors.
• thanUse than only with a comparative: Penang is smaller than Selangor. Do not use than with a superlative. Use the: Selangor is the biggest.
• a clear paragraphA good paragraph starts with a topic sentence, then gives details, then ends with a closing sentence.

Contoh ulasan PBD

Selepas murid bermain, Jejak TP English mencadangkan TP dan ulasan seperti di bawah. Guru menyemak, kemudian menyalin ulasan ke dalam rekod PBD.

TP1: Murid recognises a few basic words on animals, landscapes and comparing things with a lot of support. Suggestion: revise the word cards in Stop 1 with a friend and use pictures to remember the meanings.

TP2: Murid understands key vocabulary on animals, landscapes and comparing things but still makes basic grammar errors. Suggestion: practise short sentences using the target grammar every day.

TP3: Murid reads short texts on animals, landscapes and comparing things and finds specific details accurately. Murid achieves the expected target for this unit.

TP4: Murid understands spoken English on animals, landscapes and comparing things and identifies main ideas and specific details well. Murid is working towards exceeding the target.

TP5: Murid reads longer texts on animals, landscapes and comparing things, makes good inferences and guesses the meaning of unfamiliar words from context. Very good progress.

TP6: Murid uses English accurately and independently on animals, landscapes and comparing things, corrects errors and builds well-organised sentences. Murid exceeds the target and is an exemplary model to others.
