Nota ringkas Healthy Opinions

Setiap hentian memberi murid satu kad fakta selepas lulus. Ini kad bagi unit ini:

• in my opinionPhrases for opinions: In my opinion, ... / I believe that ... / As far as I'm concerned, ... / It seems to me that ... Give a reason with because.
• it makes me feelDescribe mood: Exercise makes me feel energetic. Too much homework makes me feel stressed. Use feel + an adjective: relaxed, nervous, confident.
• So do I / Neither do ITo agree with a positive sentence: I love swimming. → So do I. To agree with a negative sentence: I don't like fast food. → Neither do I. Use the same auxiliary verb: I can swim. → So can I.
• allowed tocan / be allowed to = permission. can't / not be allowed to = prohibition. could / was allowed to = permission in the past. was able to = managed to do something in the past.
• membershipMembership is the state of belonging to a club or gym. Members usually have a card and some special rights.
• guestA guest is a person who visits. Some gyms allow members to bring a guest, but the guest may have to pay a small fee.
• agreementListen to how people agree and disagree: So do I! / Neither do I. / I'm not so sure. / That's true, but ... They show the speakers' attitude.
• connecting wordsIn addition, however, as a result, to summarise: Connecting words help you follow the speaker's argument and conclusion.
• persuadeTo persuade is to make someone agree with your opinion or do something. A good writer persuades with reasons and examples.
• balanced viewA balanced view looks at both sides of an issue. Words such as however, on the other hand and although introduce the other side.
• opinion paragraphOpinion paragraph: 1. state your opinion (In my opinion, ...). 2. give a reason (because ...). 3. add another point (In addition, ...). 4. conclude (To summarise, ...).
• agree politelyPolite agreement and disagreement: I agree, but ... / That's true. However, ... / I see your point, but I think ...

Contoh ulasan PBD

Selepas murid bermain, Jejak TP English mencadangkan TP dan ulasan seperti di bawah. Guru menyemak, kemudian menyalin ulasan ke dalam rekod PBD.

TP1: Murid recognises a few basic words on health, opinions, agreement and permission with a lot of support. Suggestion: revise the word cards in Stop 1 with a friend and use pictures to remember the meanings.

TP2: Murid understands key vocabulary on health, opinions, agreement and permission but still makes basic grammar errors. Suggestion: practise short sentences using the target grammar every day.

TP3: Murid reads short texts on health, opinions, agreement and permission and finds specific details accurately. Murid achieves the expected target for this unit.

TP4: Murid understands spoken English on health, opinions, agreement and permission and identifies main ideas and specific details well. Murid is working towards exceeding the target.

TP5: Murid reads longer texts on health, opinions, agreement and permission, makes good inferences and guesses the meaning of unfamiliar words from context. Very good progress.

TP6: Murid uses English accurately and independently on health, opinions, agreement and permission, corrects errors and builds well-organised sentences. Murid exceeds the target and is an exemplary model to others.
